Toledo Center for Eating Disorders recommends that clients bring a limited amount of clothing and personal belongings (including valuables) to treatment. We provide each client with bedding linens; however, you are welcome to bring a pillow and additional bedding from home.

  • Comfortable, casual, clothing to layer
  • Suggested clothing items include: tennis shoes, sunglasses, a lightweight jacket or sweater (in warmer months), a heavy coat or jacket (in cooler months), clothes appropriate for outings (if desired).
  • For those who are medically cleared, we offer yoga once a week, so please bring appropriate attire
  • Towels and washcloths (optional)
  • Personal toiletries/ feminine hygiene items (razors will be allowed)
  • Cash/ credit cards for personal spending and medications (which will be deposited into a personal expense account for safe-keeping)
  • Identification card (e.g. driver’s license), insurance card, and pharmacy prescription card
  • Contact name/ information for personal pediatrician or physician to obtain records
  • Cell phone or calling card for long distance calls
  • Laptop/ computer devices (optional)
  • Suggested items include: stamps, envelopes, cards, books, craft supplies, DVD’s, and music (including portable music devices and chargers).
  • Calculator (optional – for meal planning assistance)
  • Notebook/folder/binder items (for handouts/group sessions)
  • Medications all must be in labeled containers, which includes all over-the-counter medications (pain-relievers, multi- vitamins)
  • Medications must not be expired
  • All medications must be turned into the front-desk upon admission
  • Adult patients are responsible for providing their own over-the-counter medications
  • School books and coursework materials (during the school year)
  • Contact name and phone number for school correspondence
  • Please keep in mind that all cell phone/ laptop usage will require parental consent
  • Rated “R” movies and inappropriate reading materials will not be allowed
  • Please do not bring paint, permanent markers or other items that could potentially damage property
  • Clients wear casual and comfortable clothing during regular programming hours
  • Clients do not wear revealing attire and clients wear and cover appropriate undergarments at all times. Staff may ask clients to change clothing if it is deemed inappropriate. Please be mindful of body image concerns.
  • Clients’ clothing is clean and does not display inappropriate slogans, pictures, etc.
  • Clients do not wear sheer shirts/skirts, tank tops, tube tops, halters, camisoles or anything that reveals the midriff, back, or cleavage; clients button shirts at least 2/3 of the way up.
  • The hemline of shorts, skirts, and dresses clients wear is thumb-tip length or longer.
  • Clients wear shoes at all times. Shoes should be appropriate for the terrain and program activities
  • Clients provide their own clothing and do not share clothes with other clients.

We strongly encourage our clients to leave all valuables (jewelry, mementos, excess credit cards, large sums of cash, etc.) at home, as Toledo Center is not responsible for any missing items

  • Non-prescription medications, vitamins, diet pills, diuretics, laxatives, stool softeners
  • Artificial sweeteners or water flavoring packets
  • Fashion magazines
  • Food, beverages, candy
  • Scissors, pocket knives, letter openers, sharp craft tools, wire hangers, lighters
  • Aerosol hairspray or aerosol deodorant
  • Acetone-based products
  • Any products that contain alcohol as a listed ingredient
  • Bathing suits
  • Smart watches
  • Fit bits
