The Toledo Center for Eating Disorders has agreements with major insurance companies that provide full or partial reimbursement for eating disorder treatment costs. These companies currently include
- Blue Cross/Blue Shield
- Beacon Health Options
- Medical Mutual
- New Directions Behavioral Health
- Ohio Health Choice
- Physicians Health Plan of Northern Indiana
- State of Michigan
- United Healthcare
- Value Options
The agreements with the insurance companies listed above may be for a particular level of care (for example Partial Hospitalization) but not for another level of care (Residential Treatment); however, we will make every effort to work with your insurance company to obtain reimbursement for treatment.
Also, we are often able to secure single case agreements with insurance companies not in the above list. We will verify insurance coverage when scheduling your first visit.
Understanding the Insurance Process
There are several steps to determine if your insurance will cover treatment.
The first step is to contact your insurance company and determine if they cover the type of treatment you are seeking (Partial Hospitalization or Residential Treatment).
Our Intake Specialist will help you in understanding who to contact, and we will also contact your insurance company to verify your benefits. Just because you have benefits does not guarantee coverage since insurers often require information on the nature of your problems and previous treatments to provide final authorization. This is usually based on our clinical evaluation prior to your admission or on the first day of admission.
Once you learn about your insurance coverage, and if it does not cover the total costs of treatment, you will have to decide how to finance the remainder of treatment costs.
Treatment Costs and Services
The Toledo Center charges a flat daily rate for services in its Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for adults and its Adolescent Residential Program (ARP).
